The Not So Best Man

The Not So Best Man is a short comedy film by award-winning director and filmmaker Ben Grace. Filmed in July 2015, it stars Paul Neafcy as Steve and William Coomber as Ian, a man trying to come to grips with the harsh realities of being single. This is made much harder by the arrival of lapsed friend Steve, someone that Ian hasn’t seen in years. It doesn’t matter to Steve that Ian is not engaged anymore – as long as they still get to have a stag do!

The Not So Best Man also contains a film-within-a-film, Bearded Thomas, written and directed by Rachel Stephens. During pre-production of The Not So Best Man, Ben knew that licensing issues may arise when showing Ian watching the television. Therefore he approached filmmaker Rachel Stephens with a brief to create a fake trailer for a action film entitled Bearded Thomas.

The Not So Best Man serves a pilot for a potential web-series that is currently being produced.
